"Why My Mom is the Best, by Ms. Gretchen"

She takes me for walks, she lets me play with Woody, she lets me watch Bunny TV, she feeds me good stuff, AND she has given me all the medicines and special baths I needed;

And there are so MANY other fun things Mommy Marie has done with me that I can't even remember them all. She is a very SPECIAL Foster Mom. And any of you new rescues out there should apply in advance. 'Cuz I think there is quite a "Wait List" for Ms. Marie and Mr. Andy's home!!

[P.S.: I really love Woody. He is my special friend and we really get along very well.]

Marco is one of those "greyhound rescues." Folks, they are REALLY sweet and loving -- but they've had a hard life. So I don't want to steal all the hugs and love from Marco. He really needs all the love he can get.

SOOOOOOO -- I'm looking for a very special new home where people will understand I'm not your normal, ordinary, run-of-the-mill Giant Schnauzer - but I am exceptionally smart -- and I'll give you all the love you can accept!!

Please give it up for Ms. Marie and her Family. They truly ARE very special folks!!

Ms. Gretchen

After we received this wonderful message from Gretchen, a rescued Giant Schnauzer, we decided Marie deserved the FIRST EVER "Paws Up Award!" Marie jumped into volunteering with our group without any previous Giant Schnauzer experience, but with a LIFETIME of dog experience. Marie has volunteered for various animal shelters and rescue groups ever since she was a teenager! Gretchen came to us with severe medical problems and her first foster family did a great job with her initial treatments. Unfortunately, Gretchen needed months of specialized care to overcome mange and she also suffers from an orthopedic issue, even though she is only about 1 1/2 years old. She turned out to be a "special needs dog" medically, but has a wonderful temperament and spirit.

Marie and her family agreed to take Gretchen in for the duration of her treatments, even though they have busy lives with a number of pets of their own. Marie's extensive dog care background was invaluable, she never hesitated when asked to give medications, baths and even the special chemical "dips" Gretchen needed!!!

We are so thankful for Marie's willingness and efficient care/observation of Gretchen. And we agree with Ms. Gretchen -- we hereby award Marie the Paws Up Award!
