FOSTER HOMES NEEDED! SCGSR is in serious need of foster homes all over the West Coast! If you have Giant Schnauzer experience or experience with large working dog breeds, we need you!!! Sometimes folks have room in their hearts for a dog on a short-term basis. Many no longer want a dog full-time -- they want the freedom to travel, etc. Fostering is a wonderful way to "borrow" a Giant. As with working for a temp agency, it's also a great way to "try on a dog for size" -- in other words, to see if this is the dog for you. If you foster, we cover medical expenses and you get first option at adoption, if you decide you are this dog's best home!! If you can help please complete the foster application and contact us via email. We are anxious to hear from you -- good homes are needed to help evaluate dogs newly received into rescue. Some of our rescues need extra love and human attention to become the best companion dogs they can be. You can help them make the adjustment to the wonderful new world they are entering. Ozzie's Great with dogs, cats, children! Need a big dog, but really want a gentle giant? Ozzie may be your guy. He's 95 lb., about 18 months old (so still a puppy in Giant Schnauzer terms), ignores cats and loves to play with other dogs and kids!

Welcome to Southern California Giant Schnauzer Rescue, Inc.
Southern California Giant Schnauzer Rescue is a group of dog rescuers who have banded together to help Giant Schnauzers find their forever homes. We also assist the public in learning more about the care and training needs of Giant Schnauzers so that fewer Giant Schnauzers will end up requiring our dog rescue services. We cover Southern California from Bakersfield to the Mexican border, and from the Pacific Ocean east to the Nevada/Arizona state lines.

The number of Giant Schnauzers in dog rescue changes from month to month, but the purpose of this group never does: Every Giant Schnauzer deserves the chance to experience his own precious Forever Home -- a home where he is loved, respected and well cared for -- a home where this intelligent working dog can love, protect and call his own.
